A high-cycle accumulation model for clay and its application to monopile foundations

Abstract A high-cycle accumulation (HCA) model predicting the of permanent strain or excess pore water pressure in clay under a large number load cycles is presented. Data from an extensive laboratory testing program on kaolin undrained cyclic loading has been analysed for that purpose. The influence amplitude, void ratio, stress overconsolidation ratio and frequency rates considered constitutive equations HCA model. proposed validated first by simulation element tests. Subsequently, its application to offshore wind turbine foundations long-term lateral presented back-analysis centrifuge test monopile soft clay. results are good accordance with measurements terms pile displacement bending moment versus applied cycles. It concluded feasible describe behaviour subjected high-cyclic loading.
